Overview
Finiteck ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal money-saving assistant designed with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
The short version: Your financial data is stored locally on your device. When you use optional AI-powered features (chat, banking comparison, web search), anonymized expense categories and amounts may be sent to third-party AI services for processing. No personal identifiers (name, email, bank credentials) are ever shared.
Data We Collect
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Finiteck stores the following information exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:
- Expense entries you create (names, amounts, categories, frequencies)
- AI-generated savings suggestions
- Your profile preferences (household size, country, currency, savings goals)
- Onboarding completion status
This data is stored locally and is not transmitted to our servers.
Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, access, or store:
- Bank account information or credentials
- Credit card numbers or payment details
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavior data
- Contacts, photos, or other personal files
AI-Powered Features & Third-Party Services
When you use optional AI features (chat assistant, banking comparison, expense alternatives), Finiteck sends limited data to third-party AI services for processing:
- Data sent: Expense categories, amounts, country, and currency
- Data NOT sent: Your name, email, bank credentials, Apple ID, or any personal identifiers
- Services used: Groq (AI chat), Google Gemini (web search), DeepSeek (fallback)
- Purpose: Generating personalized savings suggestions and comparing market rates
These features are optional. You can disable web search in Settings. The on-device AI model works completely offline without sending any data.
No Tracking Services
Finiteck does not integrate with any advertising or tracking services. Specifically:
- No Google Analytics or Facebook SDK
- No advertising networks
- No crash reporting services that collect personal data
- Privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible) on the website only — not in the app
Payments and Subscriptions
Finiteck offers subscription-based access through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit.
We do not have access to:
- Your payment method details
- Your Apple ID
- Your purchase history outside of subscription status

Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your data for advertising or marketing purposes. When you use AI features, anonymized expense data is processed by third-party AI services as described above. Your locally stored financial information is never accessed by us.
Data Security
Your data is protected by:
- Apple's device-level encryption
- iOS sandboxing (data is inaccessible to other apps)
- Your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
We recommend keeping your iOS device updated and using a strong passcode.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights regarding your data:
- Right to Access: All your data is visible within the app at any time.
- Right to Rectification: You can edit any expense or profile information directly in the app.
- Right to Erasure: You can delete individual items or reset all data from the Profile screen. Alternatively, uninstalling the app removes all data permanently.
- Right to Data Portability: You can export your data as a file using the Export feature in the Profile screen.
Because we do not store your data on any server, there is no data for us to access, modify, or delete on your behalf.
Children's Privacy
Finiteck is suitable for users of all ages. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not collect any personal information from users, including children. All data is stored locally on the user's device and never leaves the device. There is no account creation required, and no data is transmitted to external servers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
